If at first you don’t succeed…keep on sucking til you do succeed!

Failure is a funny thing… it said to be the act or instance of failing  or proving unsuccessful; lack of success.

*thinking* lack of success… *sigh* at times I feel this way, especially lately.

I woke up this morning not feeling my best.  I rolled over and text a few of my friends and chatted with some via WhatsApp.  I spoke to my mum and I had every intention of going to church, but my spirit wasn’t in it.

My body is tired: emotionally and physically…

I am DRAINED…

Failure……

After a chatting with a friend via text,  I realized that I needed to follow my own advice….

Marla… GET YO LIIIIIIIIIIIIIFE!!!

So with that I began to think and talk out loud.  Yes, this is something I do quite often.  Matter of fact a LOT of teachers tend to do this. And for those of you out there, it’s ok to talk to yourself AND answer!! :)

As I was talking I realized that I’m not REALLY talking to myself, I’m talking to God.  Actually I’m fussing at Him! I am angry, I am pissed, I am hurt, I am sad.  Within an hours time I go through several different emotions.  If you were sitting in the same room with me you would have thought I was bi-polar!

It is when I come to the following realization…

Everyone fears failure. But breakthroughs depend on it!

My breakthrough is coming!!! *happy dance*  I just have to hold on and believe.

Failure helps us hone our skills much better than success. When we fail — and take the time to learn from our failures — we discover what we need to improve. As the saying goes, the largest room in the world is the room for improvement.

So just remember, and so will I….

Failure is not the end. Psalm 37:23-24, TLB.
“The steps of good men are directed by the Lord. He delights in each step they take. If they fall it isn’t fatal, for the Lord holds them with His hand.”

Even good people fail. Psalm 34:19, TLB.
“The good man does not escape all troubles, he has them too. But the Lord helps him in each and every one.”

When you fail – you can succeed next time. Philippians 4:13, TLB.
“For I can do everything God asks me to with the help of Christ who gives me the strength and power.”

Don’t let failing or failure discourage. Joshua 1:9, TLB.
“be bold and strong! Banish fear and doubt! For remember, the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

Where In the World is Carmen San Diego?! And other childhood memories…

So I’m sitting/lying here watching CSI.  I know I should be in the bed, BUT I can’t sleep.  This is when the music starts to play in my mind.

I beging to laugh at myself when I realize that I am humming in my head…the TV show tune of “Where in the World is Carmen San Diego.

So after taking the time to find this song and the faithful YouTube, I looked up another show I LOVED to watch…

I mean cartoons today are NOT like they are when I was growing up! What is it that these kids are watching these days?! The cartoons are even REALLY for the kids…they are more for the adults with all the hidden messages they have.

Then I began to remember Nickelodeon when it was REALLY and TRULY Nickelodeon….

Now….I KNOW that I’m old!!! I started to cry after watching this!!! Yes, sad I know….lol!

Last one before I retire for the night….ENJOY!!!

Ross’s American Idol – My Adventures with Friends… DWL (Dying With Laughter)

So a week ago I spent some time in California with some friends of mine.  I was there for one of my friend’s 30th birthday party.

Now if you know me, you will know that I DETEST shopping!! Yes!! I, a 30-year-old women, do NOT like shopping for clothes.  It has been that way since a child.  Not only do I NOT like shopping but I can’t stand going to stores where I have to “search” for things.  Below are the top 3 stores that I do NOT like to go in…

Well, it was just my luck that some shopping had to be done when I was in Cali. Of course one of the store that my girls wanted to go to was the dreaded Ross!! My friends took me in the store kicking and screaming.  The whole time I was saying, “WHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHY am I HEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRRRE!?!?”

So while the birthday girl was trying on items a video was made.  Here is what happens when three 30 year olds, who haven’t seen each other in a while, get together and go shopping at Ross
